Georgia Tech Research Contributes to Cutting-Edge Microelectronics

Student and Charles Ume look at devices

Akrometrix, a Georgia-based company founded upon the pioneering work of Dr. I. Charles Ume, has become an industry leader in measuring and resolving thermomechanical flatness issues in the manufacturing and assembly of microelectronics.

Founded in 1994, Akrometrix has operations and partners located in all major microelectronics manufacturing regions around the world. The company has two primary product lines: the TherMoiré systems (for engineering and production evaluation) and the LineMoiré Automated Flatness Inspection Systems (for production lines). These two products offer comprehensive flatness measurement and analysis capabilities for R&D and high volume applications. A pioneer in the temperature-dependent measurement arena, Akrometrix equipment is used by 95 percent of the top 20 global semiconductor manufacturers.
